Sam turns Four con't.

I had to post this picture of the boys new street hockey gear they got at Sam's b'day. This gear is passed down from their big cousins Kevin and Curtis. Auntie Denise recovered the navy set and put oliers crests donated from Auntie Mel on them. It was quite a project. I do think I need to put the oilers set away until the boys are a bit bigger. Don't you agree? The thigh straps could probably go around their waists. We love all the hand me downs we get from the boys big cousins! Pretty spoiled.

Little Isaac slept through the whole party but these three were in the middle of all the festivities.

Sam turns Four!

These two always help each other open presents and they don't mind sharing their new gifts with each other. It is so awesome how excited they are for each other.

See the banner flags I made for Sam's party hanging on the rail behind them. I used old scrap booking paper to make them. I think I get just as excited about the birthday party as the kids.

More lego. What a surprise!

This is Sam's motocross cake. I can't take credit for the idea, I found it online. It was a lot of fun making this cake but took 2-3 hours. Sam was thrilled and thinks we should make the same cake for Daddy whose birthday is coming up. The theme of the party was motocross/monster trucks. We got Sam a remote control monster truck for his birthday as well as 3 nerf guns and some lego. Pretty spoiled! We had two birthday parties, one Thursday night with family and one Friday morning with friends.

Odds and Ends

I couldn't resist taking this picture last week. Front row seats to bulldozers and graders, every little boys dream. They were entertained for 1/2 hour, I even managed to have a quick shower while they all watched.
I was so excited last week when I dropped into the thrift store and found these costumes marked to 50% off. I paid $20 for 4 adorable costumes. The honeybee is missing from the picture.

Sam helped me make cookies for his Pumpkin and spider class party.

We've gone skating three times in the last month. It's free, local and the kids need the practice. Sam just started using this thing to help him and what a help it has been.

Isaac at 8 months

• is completely weaned from Mommy
• drinks 4 -6 oz bottles of milk a day, loves veggies, fruit, cheerios, mum mum crackers, yogurt, any kind of baby food that we give him
• has two naps a day 9am and 1pm
• still sleeps through the night, goes to bed around 7:30pm and sleeps until 7:30am
• loves having baths with his big brother Luke
• rolls over both ways and scoots around on the floor
• Often lays on his back and pushes himself across the floor until he hits the wall or a chair or the table etc.
• has the most beautiful eyes and the longest eyelashes ever
• smiles at everyone and anyone who glances his way
• has the best giggle when we tickle him
• babbles lots
• loves watching his brothers and can't wait to get in on the action
• loves going for walks in the bike cart
• sleeps on his back now and loves any soft blanket that he can get his hands on
• sits at the supper table with us as a family and takes in the chaos around him
• I'm not sure what he weighs but my guess is almost 25 pounds
• starting to develop his own personality
• is seeking independence already, he's starting to prop himself up on his arms and gets up on his knees, it won't be long and he will be crawling
• sits in the grocery cart and loves looking around
• loves going for wagon rides to the park
• loves going in the toddler swing on the playcenter and watching his brothers while they play in the sandbox
• is such a joy in our lives and is such an amazing good natured baby
• wears size 5 diapers, 18 month Costco sleepers, 24mth - Size 2 clothes. Luke wears size 3 and Isaac size 2...can't believe it.
• has two teeth and is constantly drooling these days and chews on everything

Playdate with Seth!

This post is for my bestest friend Tracy who is currently visiting her sisters in Australia for 3 weeks. Her darling mom came to stay at her house and take care of her three oldest boys while her and Baby Isaiah went on a holiday. Seth came for the afternoon so Tracy's mom could have a short break the other day. We had lots of fun playing in the sandbox and going for a wagon ride to meet Andrew at the bus stop. The boys are snacking on some rockets while waiting for the bus to come. We got lots of smiles, waves and attention plunked on the side of the road waiting. I thought Tracy might enjoy seeing some pics of Sethy having fun. I'm sure she is really missing the boys at this point. We are counting down the days Trac until you come back. Enjoy!

This Thanksgiving we were thankful for:

• Papa coming to Andrew's first hockey game
• Papa practicing hockey with Andrew in the front yard
• Nana reading lots and lots of books to the kids
• going for truck rides with Nana and Papa in Uncle Jamie's truck
• visiting the Just Fur Fun petting Zoo with Nana and Papa
• carving pumpkins with Nana and Papa
• lots of hugs and cuddles with Nana and Papa

The Littlest Titan!

Well the long awaited day arrived and Andrew started hockey. He has been anxiously waiting to start hockey for weeks/months. Ken took him hockey gear shopping in August and he was so excited to show his hockey stuff to anyone and everyone that came by. One day awhile ago I caught him trying his stuff on for the millionth time and he said he just wanted to make sure it still fit him. We had to laugh.

Ken went along with him on the ice to practice and Papa was here from NS to watch from the stands and take pictures for me.

It was good for Andrew to play with the big kids, so he could be humbled. He was quite confident in his abilities when he practiced street hockey with Papa earlier in the week.

So another milestone for us, our first son playing hockey. Hard to believe this is happening already, it seems like just yesterday he was a little baby being cuddled in our arms. I guess I am a hockey mom now and this is just the beginning...3 more boys to go.
