Groovy sixties party.

My wonderful Sister Ang turned 40 last week and decided to have a theme party of the decade she was born in. A lot of the guests really got into it and went all out with costumes. This is me with friends Tracy and Irene.

I was pretty excited that Ken got so into dressing up. We went to three thrift stores shopping with all three kids. It was a real family outing. We've decided to start a bin full of dress up clothes for the future.














This was at the end of Ang's lane. friends of hers decided to make a display. In case you can't make it out, there are two legs sticking out of a toilet with high heels on the feet. Only rednecks would do such a thing!

School Promotion Supper

Every year Ken's school holds a fundraising supper for the school. This years theme was Hawaii. The food was amazing, they cooked a pig on a spit, had meatballs, rice, baked potatoes, salads, fruit kebobs, veggie platters and the list goes on. I didn't even have to buy a costume, Ken's parents went to Hawaii years ago and Ken's mom had a dress and a flower lay and hair clip to match.

This is one of the teachers with a student who dressed up as a palm tree. He of course won a prize.

Everyday Life in the Leffer's house.

This is on the top step of 12 and yes he is asleep. I'm not even sure how long he slept there, at the most 1/2 an hour. Just a little dangerous!

Andrew and I made cheerio necklaces the other day. Sam didn't want to help make them but he certainly helped eating them. Andrew has a new posing smile lately. What a goof.















Luke is crawling now, going up 3 stairs, falling down three stairs and standing against things. As exciting as it is to see him reaching milestones, I don't encourage them. I really am enjoying him being a baby.

I think all of the activity in our house and all the freshair the kids get really tuckers Sam out. He can sleep anywhere. Not so comfy with his bike helmet and apron on.

6km Moonlight Run.

Whoo hoo! I ran in another race last Saturday. It was 6km and was a moonlight run that started at 8pm. 2500 people ran in this race. 1645 of them did the 6km while the rest did 10km.

Mel (Ken's sister) and her husband Pete did the 6km as well. As you can see from the pic Pete wasn't as excited as Mel and I.

















This is my 3rd place metal that I won for my category. I was pretty tickled. 3rd out of 142 women in my category. I also placed 135/1645. My time was 31:44. I was hoping to get more around the 30 minute time but there is a killer 1km hill at the end of the race that slowed me down.

It was a blast and I can't wait to do the next one!

1 Mom, 5 sisters and 3 babies and LOTS of shopping!

Last Friday we went on our annual girls shopping trip to Calgary. We always leave early in the morning, shop all day, go out for dinner then stay in a hotel and head home the next day. It is a definate highlight of the year. It always seems to work out that one or two or even three of us are either pregnant, or nursing. Last year three of us were prego and this year, well you can see that three little ones joined us.







Mel and I thought it would be funny to shock the other girls with some really outrageous dresses. I actually kinda liked mine but definately wouldn't have anywhere to wear it.













Sometimes finding a table big enough in the foodcourt can be a challenge.












Luke and Simone are on the same feeding/napping schedule. They also both suck their thumbs and love napping with a knit blankie. They had identical habits all day. It worked out really well.











Of course Mom, Ang and Denise had a room to themselves while Trix, Mel, me and the babes shared a room. I threw the kids in bed with Grandma and their aunties in the morning! Luke slept until 7:45. Not bad!

Andrew's shiner!

So...the hockey fights begin. Sam hit Andrew with a hockey stick outside yesterday. Andrew was bawling at the door to come in and I opened the door to see a huge round ball under his left eye. I put ice on it and the swelling went down quite a bit. This picture was taken after the swelling went down. I'm not sure if this was an accident or not but Sam felt pretty bad and kept giving Andrew hugs and kisses to say he was sorry.

Busy week....next is bunkbeds!

We set up the boys bunkbeds last night. The boys were so excited. Now if we can just convince them to sleep later than 6-6:30 in the morning.

Potty training Take #2

Horray! Sam is now potty trained. He was much more receptive this time. He hasn't had hardly any accidents in the last two days and has been dry when he wakes up in the morning. I am sooo incredibly proud of him. What a savings on the pocket book. Now only one in diapers!

Shelley's Daycare!

On Monday we had lots of visitors to play with. I took care of three of my friend Amanda's boys and then Simone. Not all day but for a few hours.
It was Amanda's birthday and she went out to lunch with her Mom and sister. So the boys and I made birthday cards for her and played some games. This is David and Andrew holding my measuring cups. They would go in one room and count to ten while I hid four measuring cups in one room. They would find them and so on. We even changed it up so that I would count while they hid the cups for me. Sometimes you just have to let loose and have fun. The kids loved it.





Simone was a little out numbered.

Timothy and Sam were watching a horsey movie called Spirit.

Sweet nieces and nephews!

We have 10 niece's from Ken's family and 3 nephew's. They are all amazing kids. This is Baby Brennan. Or should I say Toddler Brennan! He has five sisters so I think it's definately a good idea for our boys to visit with him as often as we can.








This is Andrea with Luke. She is 9 years old and is going to be a great babysitter before too long.













This is Laryssa who recently lost her two front teeth!















And Little Miss Hailey who has the most beautiful hair!




















Last but certainly not least is Miss Simone and her expression says it all!

24 hours of Fun!

We went to the cabin last Friday for the night. Dwayne and Trixie had been there with their 6 kids for a few days of holidays and they wanted us to come visit for a night. We left after school on Friday and came home Saturday afternoon. It was a quick trip but lots of fun. We traded a kid for the night. We took our neice Andrea so she could visit with all of her girl cousins and we left Sam at Ang and Pete's. We pigged out, stayed up late talking and laughing and took all of the kids for a walk/sliegh ride in the snow. We love hanging out with Dwayne and Trixie! I am so blessed with an awesome family and it is so great to have sooo many sisters to hang out with.
