We had a day outing to Waterton. Didn't see any bears this year. Highlights were the park, hike, picnic lunch, beach, icecream, windsurfers on the lake and the wildflowers were beautiful. Field after field of them, so many kinds and colors.

We spent last week at the cabin with the boys. It is such a treat to go there and bond as a family. Grandma and Grandpa even joined us for a night. We did the usual stuff, quadding, throwing rocks in the creek, biking, games and lots of eating really yummy food. This year Ken really wanted to try out fishing with the boys. Ken caught a few fish and the boys helped reel them in. Hopefully the boys attention span lasts longer over time. They sometimes would cast once then wander into the forest to play swords with sticks. Andrew loved going fishing but would cast once then reel in and change hooks/bait etc. Cast again and change again. He loved playing with his tackle box. Ken and his Dad were both quite entertaining with their casts into the trees close by. It was quite an adventure for everyone seeing how they would get their hooks back. Awesome times.

Another fun park outing as a family. Cheap entertainment. We even found over $8 in change by the train bridge. Covers the gas it took to get there. Can't beat that.

7 year anniversary

So cute watching hubby get excited over fishing and teaching me and the boys. We picked up two fishing rods for $10 at a garage sale last week for us and they work great. Except we didn't manage to catch anything or get any bites. Our location didn't seem to have many fish, maybe because there is a BEAR in the area.

I think my neck muscles got stronger while we were there. I would cast and then quickly glance everywhere behind us for bears then reel in, then cast etc.

We celebrated 7 years together by going to the cabin for a night while Aunty Ang and Andrea took care of the boys. Salmon dinner, drinks, games, a fire, big breakfast, walks, fishing and sleeping in. We actually did all of that in less than 24 hours.

We went to Hendersen last week so the boys could practice casting their new fishing rods with their Daddy. We don't have hooks on the rods yet, just practicing.
Sam was so cute and actually attracted a crowd of young boys while he practiced. He explained with lots of excitement how to do it.

A new found hobby for the boys. I'm envisioning many days in the future when the boys go out fishing for the day and hmmmm what would I do during that time? maybe shopping?

so happy to be swinging together dressed in their old fashioned dresses. And please....hit me in the head if I EVER become one of those parents who aren't enjoying every minute of watching the joy on their little ones faces at the park and am TOO busy texting and playing with my blackberry or some form of technology. My goodness you can't even say hello to other parents at the park anymore while your kids play they are so into their little handheld gadgets!!! Okay that's my point of view and like I said hit me if I ever turn into that!!!!
