The Boys Are Back In School!

Andrew and Sam headed back to school last week. Andrew grade 2 and Sam grade 1. They are in the same classroom since it's a split class which is kind of exciting. Every time we talked about school prior to it starting they said they weren't that excited but the morning of they were of the walls. Sporting their new runners they were all smiles.

 Luke headed back to Jenny Emery for preschool a few days later. He was quite excited.

 It was recommended by a speech pathologist that Luke attend preschool with peers the same age to help with his speech. He also gets pulled out of class to work one on one with an expert. He goes Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

This was him at the end of his preschool day. Can you say "exhausted"? As I write he just finished his third preschool morning and he is very miserable when I pick him up. He uses all his well behaved niceness at school I think/hope.

Emma's First Haircut - 4 months old

 

 

BabyDoll got a haircut already at 4 months. This girl had some wacky hair going on and was starting to be called Kramer off of Seinfeld. She was a good little girl while Aunty Ang cut her hair. She was quite curious about our watches as you can see. The rest of the kids were around 1 when they got their first haircuts. 

Team Homemakers

 I'm so excited to do this post and share what Denise and I worked on while the men installed laminate. First we made curtains for Andrew and Sam`s room. They are made of denim and a plaid fabric. If I would`ve taken the picture at night, it would`ve been better than the daylight showing through the fabric, but you get the picture. We went for, as Denise called it, a "Tommy hilfiger" look.

 With the leftover fabric we made the boys each their own pillow. They were pretty stoked!

 This show`s Luke and Isaac`s room. New flooring and curtains that we made. The fabric we used to make the curtains looks like it came with the bedding and matches the border perfectly. I still plan to make a few pillows with leftovers. In case you forget what the floor looked like prior it was ugly pink carpet!

 This is my beautiful birthday present that Denise painted. I LOVE it! It goes well with the buoy next to it that they gave us at our wedding. I also made the beach sign that points out east.

And lastly this is Emma`s room. New flooring as well as new curtains. I still have some scraps to work with here too. Have I mentioned how much I love doing projects to our house and decorating? It helps that I have a handy husband who is eager to learn and isn`t scared to work hard. Dad and Denise were a huge help this round of renos as well. They are a great team and are used to tackling projects together! Thanks Nana and Papa, hope your holiday wasn`t too tiring!

We sure love these two and their visits. Making lots of great memories!

 Poor little guy was really sick prior to our zoo trip. He`s zonked right out.

We picked a day and headed to the zoo with Nana and Papa. It was quite a day, 12 hours round trip. We planned on heading out early to beat the heat. We left by 8:30am and didn`t even get to the zoo until 11:30am. Lots of bathroom stops, nursing stops and a few coffee stops for Papa. We had a great day once I received a pep talk from my folks to "just relax". The zoo can be a tad stressful with five excited little ones running around. I`m sure most moms can relate. We even did come across a lost little boy and helped him find his mom. My heart broke seeing how scared he was and how frantic the mom was. Anyways we did a headcount before we left and we were all there. It was a great time and should be fun in another year or two when Isaac and Emma are bigger.

We did some renos while they were visiting. Installing laminate in 30 degree weather with no air conditioning. It was a success!

Daddy did the stairs like 100 times cutting all the laminate in the garage and then helping Papa snap the pieces together. Stay tuned for the finished product in a later post.

Lake Newell 2012 Ken + 3

Ken took the three oldest to Lake Newell camping in our tent for 3 nights. What a boy-bonding adventure.

• Day 2 a huge storm hit in the afternoon. The storm flattened the campsite and they ended up huddling in Aunty Ang and Uncle Pete's camper until bedtime and then all 4 of them slept in Black Beauty for the night.
• The boys enjoyed whittling sticks with our camping steak knifes.
• They played at the beach with cousins and friends.
• The kids also enjoyed visiting Aunty Ang for candies each day.
