Guess who is a Big Boy Now?

Guess what we've been busy with all week? Potty Training Luke and it's going pretty good. What a lot of patience this takes. You would think the third time around that I'd be a pro but I still second guess myself and re read parts of the book I follow. I had to take this picture of his underwear on the line...I thought it was so adorable. Ken's family and some friends helped me out a lot by watching the older boys throughout the week so we had less distractions. I must say it was great spending one on one time with Luke but I was certainly happy to have all 4 boys together again for the whole day Friday. I missed them. Luke has quite the cheering squad when he pees or poops on the potty with his brothers around and his mommy and daddy praising him so much. We also made a few phone calls to aunties and to grandparents so he could tell them what a big boy he is now. Thankfully the worst is over and we are onto only one boy with diapers now. Hooray for savings $$$$$.

This is Luke's new Scooter from Nana and Papa that he got with a giftcard for his birthday. He seems to have mastered it quicker than his tricycle.

It can't be...Andrew started Kindergarten!!

three outta four...

Andrew when he got introduced to all of the school/staff/parents/grandparents etc. The teacher called him "Athletic Andrew". He looked just a tad short next to some of the giants in his class. I'm really glad his good buddy Noah is close to the same height as Andrew. There are 10 kids in Kindergarten this year, 5 girls and 5 boys.

What an excited boy he was. Bouncing off of the walls all afternoon and evening, he had a hard time going to bed and unwinding tonight. After school I asked him what his favorite thing about the day was and he said "Everything". I suggested he go outside and ride his bike with his brothers and the neighbor kids and he said " I have too much school work to do." I had to chuckle. Tonight we started his home share reading book. Mommy is going to be busy with lots of new things this year...homework, mother helper, field trips etc. It should be great fun although I will miss having all of the boys home together, it will be great to have some one on one time with them as well. I think I just need a few weeks to adjust.

Sam goes to Preschool

So Sam is back for round two of preschool and is enjoying it very much. He goes Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 to 11:30. He is attending a different school than Andrew because there isn't a preschool at our Christian School that assists with Speech. He is very comfortable with the school environment this year as well as the teachers so we should see great progress before he heads to Kindergarten next year. He told me the other day that "he loves Lori", his teacher which I thought was so sweet. We saw her over the summer at the lake and he was pretty shy and didn't want to say much to her.

Zoo Part 2

Going to the Zoo

On Friday we headed to the Calgary zoo for the day and what a blast. The highlight for the kids was the dinosaurs which roar and move their heads and tails. Luke was roaring back at them and Sam is still unsure whether they are real or not. What a huge zoo...we were there for 5 hours and still didn't see it all.

250 pounds of ...Applesauce! Yikes.

Andrew had a brillant idea to wear their bike helmets so that when they picked apples they wouldn't get hit on the head by falling apples.

Last week we spent a whole day picking and processing crabapples from Ken's mom's tree into applesauce. Ken's sister Mel, Ken's mom and I made 250 pounds of applesauce and bagged it in freezer bags. What a productive day and the kids were well behaved. If anyone would like to come for dinner in the next year chances are you will get applesauce with the meal. Yummy!
