ThanksGiving week in Coaldale

 

Thankful for wide open spaces, fresh country air (sometimes not so fresh), friends and country life experiences. Gun shooting.

• We made our first trip back to Coaldale since we moved and it was lots of fun.
• playground dates, hot tub dates, swimming dates, sleepovers, hunting, gun shooting, wiener roast, a cozy outdoor fire, girls night, thrift store shopping
• So much to be thankful for!

 I ventured out on a fieldtrip with Luke's class this month too.

 Highlight of the day was driving these go-carts around.

There are two grade 1 classes at Luke's new school so lots of kids to play with. So much fun hanging out with him and meeting his friends and some other mom's.



FOPS (Family Oriented Programs) Fort Edmonton with Isaac and his class.

 Isaac's school has family programs set up that parents have to attend throughout the year. I'm required to attend 15 over the year. The first one I went to was at his school and it was a workshop put on by Occupational Therapists on Routines. This workshop was to Fort Edmonton for a field trip. I couldn't believe how many parents and staff came along. It was wonderful and Isaac and I had some great one on one time.

 Unfortunately the train wasn't running anymore for the season but we did walk the tracks and checked it out.

All done. Lots of walking, made lemonade from scratch, checked out some old buildings and the farm animals and played some games.



September Highlights

 School fundraiser: Since we didn't know any neighbors and Daddy works at the school we set up a chocolate almond table by the busy mailbox outside our house in the hopes that we could sell 60 boxes. And we did in two afternoons after school they were all gone.

 But who could say no to these charming boys. Even the garbage truck driver and crew bought some, bus drivers pulled over and we actually met lots of our neighbors. Good thinking eh?

 Sister in law Trixie and I went for a 5km walk one beautiful fall afternoon. It was perfect because these two fell sound asleep.

 Auntie Tracy came for a sleepover. The kids loved all the attention she gave them.

 Isaac started catching the bus to and from preschool after two weeks of mommy and Emma driving him. It was getting to be a bit much driving 20 minutes each way twice a day from Tuesday till Friday.

 As sad as he looks here he actually loves the bus, just a little unsure the first day.

 Andrew Started taking piano lessons once a week for 12 weeks. We bought a used keyboard off of swap and buy. He's even teaching his brothers and catching on very quickly.

 Emma lines up all her teddys at bedtime, tucks them in, kisses them and falls asleep hugging them. Grandma bear, mommy and daddy and puppy.

 One Sunday evening we were invited out by some friends to go to the river valley for a picnic and to hang out. The kids took their fishing rods and were also entertained by a rock slinger and mud.

 It was so beautiful and fun hanging out.

 We had a craft morning one Saturday. A bit stressful for mom but the end result is usually fun.

 We made a fall banner with leaves that say things were thankful for. The kids came up with lots of things: pizza, beds, God, Emma, friends, school bus you name it.
