July 2015

We had a jam packed summer full of adventures, special bonding with friends and family, and made a lot of fantastic memories. We did not waste anytime starting our summer holidays when we headed to Coaldale to celebrate Uncle Pete and Auntie Ang's 25th anniversary. We took our trailer and had our first camping experiences in Uncle Pete's backyard. It was a top notch resort with beautiful scenic running trails, a refreshing salt water pool to play and cool off in, great food, amazing company and every night had late night bonfires.

Emma and Daddy enjoying the pool.
We got to re-connect with some great buddies that we miss dearly.
Little Paisley Senneker is growing like a weed and her and Emma quickly hit it off.
Ang and Pete's celebration. Ken and Paul having some great laughs. They have been buddies since school days. Pretty neat that they are still making memories together!

We spent July 1 with the VanderHeide's. It was super windy (imagine that?) but the Dad's still managed to take the boat out with some of the older kids. We had a picnic lunch together beside the lake.
It's so great spending time with these guys. Our kids play great together and our pretty close in ages.

Auntie Tracy spoiling Emma with her nails.

Seth is quite the carpenter and has his own tool box, belt and tools. Him and Luke decided to build a table together. Quite the masterpiece! With Seth's hard work and Luke's charm maybe they will be business partners someday.

Buddies.
We headed back to Edmonton and cooled off with our mini pool in the backyard. Ken did marking for the government again this year for a week and the kids attended Vacation Bible School while I helped out at it. They had so much fun and we hope to do it again next year.

Andrew celebrated his double digit birthday with some buddies. He got a pretty fancy bow for his birthday and he showed his friends how to shoot it. They also went swimming at Terwilligar pool and had lunch with us.

Sometimes Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the pool  as much as the kids.
Mid July we headed to Kimball Saskatchewan with 3 other great families. This was our first real camping trip with the trailer and it was a hit. It was also our first time camping with friends. It was so neat bonding with these families and their kids. There was a fireban until the last night and we had mixed weather...rain, smoke, and a few sunshiney beach days.
We bought 2 kids kayaks and what a hit. Some of us adults even gave them a try.
The sandy beach was great, the trails were great, and the icecream was great.
Don't mess with this sailor!
Friends and Cousins by family.
What can I say?
Isaac was so happy in the water, biking and playing with Mason's digger in a dirt pile.
Our last night there we had a steak dinner as adults. We decided to meet at the DeHaans site for the event after the kids were in bed.
It was also Ken's and mine 11th anniversary. Our friends set up a special table with wild flowers, wine and candles and a privacy blanket from their table.

That was super sweet and made our anniversary quite memorable.
It wasn't always hot and dry but the kids still had fun.
Silly girls.
Beach fun.
